Upload a video to generate a transcript
Open a new Descript project and drag in your MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, MKV, or FLV file to start the transcription. Pick your language when prompted. If several speakers are present, enter the speaker count and names, and Descript will handle the labels automatically.

Edit and customize your transcript
By default, when you change text in your transcript, you’re also editing your video. Use Correct mode (press ‘C’ or highlight and right-click a word) to fix any transcription mistakes while keeping everything synced. You can also switch to Write mode (CMD+E or CTRL+E) to edit text as if you were working in a document.

Export your transcript
After finalizing your transcript, choose Publish > Export > Transcript. Export options include Microsoft Word (.docx), HTML (.html), Markdown (.md), Plain text (.txt), or Rich Text Format (.rtf). You can tweak speaker labels, timecodes, and chapters before exporting or copying straight to your clipboard.
