Video Merger

Joining video files together is as easy as combining text when you use Descript as your video merger. Add seamless transitions, music, and effects to produce compilations, video presentations, highlight reels, and more—whether you’re merging 2 or 200 video clips into a single timeline.

How to merge multiple videos into one

Step 1

Upload videos you want to merge

In a new project in Descript, upload the video files you want to merge by dragging and dropping them into the timeline. You can also Record new audio or video clips, or click the Media icon to add stock media, like audio, GIFs, images, and video. As you upload, Descript will generate a transcript for easier merging and editing.

Step 2

Cut & combine your clips

You can make most of your cuts in the transcript by simply deleting or rearranging the text to delete or rearrange them within the editing timeline. Add a ‘/’ to create new scenes for more control over where specific clips cut and transition. You can use the timeline editor to adjust the start and end times of a video by dragging either side of a video clip to trim or extend it.

Step 3

Polish & export your combined video

You can add text or animated captions by clicking the Text icon, or add music or sound effects from our extensive media library to find something that suits your video. Once you’re happy with how everything looks and sounds, click Publish to download your video or upload it directly to a supported platform like YouTube.
