Create a new video project in Descript to start creating your training video. You can begin by either scripting and storyboarding in Descript for more complex online training courses, or clicking Record to jump straight into a screen recording for simpler tutorial videos. Since Descript makes post-production edits a breeze, you can take your time and record it all in one take.

Once you’re finished recording, it will generate a transcript based on your audio, which you can edit to directly edit your video. Remove entire sections of the video by deleting the corresponding section in the transcript, or eliminate some or all filler words highlighted in the transcript by right clicking on them. Add a ‘/’ to the transcript to break your video up into scenes, and then use the canvas to resize different layers within each scene, like your screen recording, stock media, captions, GIFs, and more.

If your video needs to be reviewed before publication, invite the reviewer as a collaborator to comment on the video via the transcript. Once comments are resolved and approved, you can click Publish to download the file, export the video directly to YouTube, Wistia, or other supported platform, or just publish your Descript web link to share or embed your video in your resource center.
